This engineering and design company has entered into another partnership contract in the academic sphere. After ČVUT, the NOEN company will also closely cooperate with the VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava. The partnership contract was signed by the general director of NOEN Ing. Otakar Wolf and the rector of VŠB prof. Ing. Ivo Vondrák, CSc. The contract has been made as general and for an indefinite period of time.

In particular NOEN will cooperate with the VŠB Laboratory of Balk Materials attended largely by students enrolled in doctoral programmes and other specialists. NOEN is interested especially in cooperation with bulk material flow specialists regarding the behavior of bulk materials in mining and transport.

“The focus of our interest lies in the area of mathematical simulation of bulk materials such the behavior of coal at transfer points of conveyor lines. Further we are interested in mathematical simulation of the process of mining i.e. invading mined materials with a mining excavator,” said Kateřina Rosová the spokesperson of NOEN.

The objective of cooperation she said is the innovation of technical solutions in the machinery developed and constructed by NOEN engineers. This includes particularly the machinery for surface coal mining and remote surface conveyor belt transporting of bulk materials.

Nearly four years ago NOEN delivered to Severočeské doly (North Bohemia Coal Mines) a unique giant excavator KK 1300 for surface mining at the Bílina Mines. The machine is fifty meters high and weighs almost 5000 tons. NOEN is one of six in the world and the only one in the Czech Republic, capable of delivering the full-scope documentation for the manufacture of such a giant machine.
