DESIGNING  IS OUR  GAME

NOEN joins the Mining Union

3. November 2015

NOEN, an engineering company specializing in designing machinery for raw material mining, has become a member of the Mining Union. Established in 1990, the Mining Union is an interest group operating in the Czech Republic whose main purpose is cooperating with government authorities in the preparation of laws and regulations pertaining to the mining industry.

Membership in the Mining Union will allow NOEN to contribute its expertise to the organization and to join other members in dealing with pressing problems in the mining sector. In addition, NOEN will be closer to mining companies, the firm’s current and potential clients, and will have direct access to information on current market developments.

Members of the Mining Union mainly include corporations specializing in raw material mining; importers, manufacturers, and vendors of raw material processing equipment and machinery; firms specializing in design, environmental protection, and geological surveying; specialized secondary schools, universities, and other educational establishments; and museums. The Mining Union currently has 115 members. The best known include OKD, KAMENOLOMY ČR, LB MINERALS, EUROVIA Kamenolomy, Českomoravský štěrk, Holcim, Severní Energetická, and ALTA.

Since 2004, the Mining Union has been a member of the European Association of Mining Industries, Metal Ores, and Industrial Minerals (Euromines), actively cooperating in working groups that take part in the legislative process in the EU, assisting in the implementation of EU laws and regulations, co-organizing educational seminars and conferences, participating in the mining industry’s voluntary initiatives, and attending international conventions and forums. Moreover, the Mining Union has a close partnership with the Slovak Association of Aggregate Producers and the Polish Association of Aggregate Producers and Vendors.
