NEW 660 MW SOURCE IN LEDVICE POWER PLANT, OB 01 – COAL HANDLING - NOEN, a.s.

General description

The complex supply of the new coal handling system was solved in two phases. The phase “Clearing of Site for New Source Construction” included all the equipment ensuring operation of the existing power units B2, B3 and B4 and the equipment also common for future operation of the new source. The common equipment consisted of a bulldozer equipped coal yard and respective conveying tracks to and from this coal yard. The technological system of the phase “New Source Construction” consisted of conveying tracks to the new 660 MWe source.

The coal handling supply in both phases included, in addition to the technological part itself, also the civil engineering part that among others included construction of a sub-level bin, new fuel yards, crushing plants, the system of bridges and transfer towers for lines of technological belt conveyance, and construction of transfer towers and a connecting bridge at +50 m level on the bunker construction of the new source.

The system using belt conveyors, mostly having width of 1,200 mm, in combination with tube conveyors, provides conveyance of fuel from the Ledvice Coal Preparation Plant, the fuel storage and required combination of fuel lines to the original ELE power units, including fuel preparation for the fluidized bed boiler K4 and to the boiler plant of the new 660 MW source.

The coal handling system is, in addition to the fuel conveyance itself, equipped with other equipment necessary for linking up to the operation of the power plant and for provision of operation ecology and safety. This includes the following equipment and systems:

  • Drawing-up cars of the sub-level bin
  • Telescopic spray lances for limitation of dustiness during conveyance of fuel to the yard.
  • The vibratory feeders and the hammer crushers for fuel preparation for the fluidized bed boiler K4
  • Separation and indication of metal objects
  • Fuel sampling
  • Belt scale commercial and technological
  • Spraying of transfer points and the yard
  • Exhaustion of transfer points and spaces of lead-ins to the boiler bins
  • Industrial vacuum cleaner mobile as well as stationary
  • Fixed fire fighting systems of drencher and sprinkler types
  • Complete field instrumentation for unmanned coal handling operation
  • Set of hoists and cranes for equipment attendance and maintenance
